AC Shadows Reveals Surprising Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a unexpected crossover event that breaks traditional expectations, the game developer has announced an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Disclosed
According to the official announcement, "A strange meeting leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of forbidden rituals and monstrous metamorphoses resonate through the shadows." The narrative introduces a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden group.
The mission centers on "strange experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Changes
The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer ends with a striking moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Extra Material
Players who finish the mission will obtain an unique katana in addition to numerous artifacts concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe

This release also brings the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "The Enigma." The series formerly included a 2020 collaborative story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla subtly contained a quest that obviously nodded to the well-known series One-Punch Man.
